Community Health Centers of America is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to become a part of our team. You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly. The duties of the Medical Assistant vary from setting to setting, depending on the size, location, and type of practice.

  • Community Health Centers of America is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to become a part of our team. You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the office running smoothly. The duties of the Medical Assistant vary from setting to setting, depending on the size, location, and type of practice.
  • This position requires computer literacy with advanced skills. This full-time position is located at one of our clinic locations in Modesto, CA.

The Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and schedule appointments
  • Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
  • Insurance verification and eligibility
  • Maintain patient's files and medical records
  • Performs computer skills in patient billing, transcription, insurance claims, basic data entry
  • Handle referrals
  • E-prescription to pharmacies
  • Follows appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct
  • Performs other position-related duties as assigned
  • Must be proficient with EMR

Other Responsibilities:

  • Follow facility OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
  • Respect cultural and religious practices of patients
  • Uphold HIPAA regulations
  • Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts
  • Strong organizational skills
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Medical Assisting Certificate required
  • 2 years of medical assisting experience
  • Current BLS (hands on) required
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to read and write consistent with job requirements
  • Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
  • Minimum of 45-50 words per minute preferred
